Emmanuel Macron condemns Vladimir Putin’s “moral and political cynicism”

• On the twelfth day of the fighting, the Russian army continued its full-scale offensive in Ukraine, in particular shelling the country’s second city, Kharkov, and trying to surround the capital Kyiv.
• In Irpen, on the outskirts of Kyiv, eight people were killed on Sunday as they tried to escape fighting along the road, the city’s mayor said. • The third round of talks between Ukraine and Russia is scheduled for today, said member of the Ukrainian delegation David Arakhamia, who did not provide details.
• Today Ukraine is suing Russia in the International Court of Justice. To justify its invasion, Moscow claims it wanted to avoid “genocide” in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which Kyiv disputes.
• More than 4,600 people protesting the military intervention in Ukraine were arrested on Sunday in 65 Russian cities, OVD-Info, a public organization that specializes in monitoring demonstrations, said. Thus, since the beginning of the Russian military operation on February 24, the number of detained protesters has exceeded thirteen thousand people.
• According to the UN, 1.5 million people left Ukraine in ten days. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi claims that “the fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II”.
