Gemma Oaten revealed she was rushed to hospital after a “really serious” accident which left her wearing a sling.
The Emmerdale actress, who played Rachel Breckle from 2011 to 2015, told her 28.2k Instagram followers that she broke her elbow after “breaking a bone”.
Gemma shared a mirror selfie of herself in the sling and a second of her badly injured arm, updating her fans.
She wrote: “Then I fell.” Literally. Really bad on the way home with Ruby on Wednesday night.
“I then went to the emergency room and discovered I had some nice little bone chips from my elbow, and now I have a fancy sling and a bunch of painkillers.”

Earlier this year, Gemma broke down in tears as she appeared live on BBC Breakfast and spoke candidly about her 13-year battle with anorexia.
She has openly described her battle with the eating disorder and previously revealed that she ended up in a psychiatric hospital when she was just 11 years old.
During a clip played on the show, Gemma wiped away tears and was heard saying: “My eating disorder developed around the age of nine.”

The voluntary organization – run by a group of ordinary people with first-hand experience of eating disorders – was founded in September 2000 and became a registered charity in 2004.
Anorexia is a serious mental illness in which a person restricts their food intake, often leading to severe underweight.
The hosts revealed that almost 30,000 people were hospitalized last year for illnesses related to eating disorders.
