Former Emmerdale star Kelli Hollis has been falsely accused of ‘curb crawling’ by police – but claims it was a mistaken identity.
The 46-year-old actress has received a letter from police warning her she could face a fine or arrest if she re-offends after her car was caught cruising the streets of Newham, Greater London and solicited prostitutes to engage in sexual activity.
However, in a video uploaded to TikTok, Kelli revealed that she sold the car to a friend after moving to Thailand, but the new owner was unable to change the log details, so she is still the vehicle’s officially registered owner.

The Leeds-born mother-of-two, who also starred on Channel 4 show Shameless, also revealed her friend has been handing out a number of speeding fines, including on her behalf.
Kelli explains: “Just before I left for Thailand I let my boyfriend use my car because they were going somewhere, they didn’t have brakes or MOT so it was quite dangerous for them to drive their car.
“I reluctantly lent them my car and when I decided to go to Thailand for good I just said, ‘Why don’t you buy the car from me?’

“So when I was in Thailand, they transferred the money to me and reassured me that I didn’t have access to the logbook.
“I explained to them what they had to do, take £25 off their car money and apply for a driver’s log – easy as pie.
“But they didn’t, and over the past few months I’ve been getting ticket after ticket, about five so far, but that’s the icing on the cake.”
Kelli then showed her followers a letter from MET Police confirming her white Suzuki motor vehicle had been spotted curb crawling and warning of the possible consequences.

She continued: “Apparently on June 30th 2022 my car was seen crawling at the curb in the London Borough of Newham and I had a letter warning me about it – what the heck?”
Kelli played Abi Spencer in Emmerdale between 2011 and 2015 and had hoped to return until her character was killed off-screen in 2018.
She previously starred in Shameless, where she made her name as Yvonne Karib in six series.

It was revealed last year that Kelli was working in a coffee shop, but her agent confirmed it was all just helping out a friend and she had “many wonderful acting gigs that were about to start”.
Shortly after leaving Emmerdale, she started her own production company called Book To Screen, which focused on adapting novels for television and film.
Kelli has also had roles on Sky drama Wolfe, as well as BBC1 soap Doctors and Channel 4 comedy Ackley Bridge.
She has moved to Thailand permanently with partner Martin Dawson in recent months after visiting the country several times during the holidays.
