Emmy Rossum has welcomed a second child with husband Sam Esmail, 45, she announced Thursday morning.
The star let her Instagram followers know that they now have a baby boy. “On a foggy Wednesday morning our son was born,” was all the brunette beauty wrote in her caption.
There was also a closeup of the newborn’s face.
The 36-year-old Shameless actress – who didn’t look pregnant when she was spotted at Disneyland in December – also shared that she was carrying the baby herself when she posted a photo with the bump.
Her pregnancy was a well-kept secret as she was not seen with a baby bump and there were no rumors that she was expecting.
Emmy and Sam already have a two-year-old daughter, Samantha.

In her new post on Thursday, Emmy shared a picture of a black and white card with a cast of her newborn son’s feet along with some information.
He was born at 10:40 am on April 5 and weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. He was also 19.5 inches long at the time of birth.
There was also a photo of her bare baby bump as she lifted her striped shirt to reveal her big bump, proving she was carrying the child herself.
Her fans seemed genuinely shocked that Emmy had secretly given birth to a second child.
One fan wrote in the comments section, “The fact that none of us knew she was pregnant again – she’s so good at hiding it ❤️ Congratulations Emmy.”
Another said: “Omg!!! You are really good at surprising!!! Lol congratulations.’
Another follower said she found Emmy’s desire for privacy “refreshing.”

Rossum also kept her first pregnancy a secret. The actress made the surprise announcement via Instagram in late May 2021.
In an accompanying caption, which included two glowing pregnancy snaps and a picture of her little girl’s footprint, the singer wrote: “5.24.21 At 8:13am on a sunny Monday morning we welcomed our daughter into the world.”

The star’s Instagram slideshow began with a black and white photo of her showing off her baby bump in a white sports bra and undone denim jeans.
She posed with her hands in her pockets as she stared stoically at the camera, her wavy brunette hair partially covering her face.
The second shot showed Esmail standing behind Rossum with his hands on her stomach while she tenderly placed a hand on his shoulder.
Although the couple didn’t share a photo of their newborn, Emmy gave her followers a look at her daughter’s tiny footprint in the final part of her slideshow.

Just over half an hour later, she returned to Instagram to share another pregnancy snap, taken at her and Esmail’s home.
“Two weeks before the birth of our daughter,” she revealed in the caption as she posed in front of a window with her stomach bared.
Emmy had never announced that she was expecting a child, leading to many fans and followers reacting in shock to her birth announcement.
The Phantom Of The Opera actress married Mr. Robot” creator, nearly seven years after her brief marriage to music executive Justin Siegel from 2008 to 2010.
