From an incredible feeling of happiness to a painful shock: a young mother’s fate takes a dramatic turn when she receives a shocking diagnosis during pregnancy that turns everything upside down.

Young love between Victoria Roscow (29) and Brad Dylan (30) blossomed with exciting news – a baby was on the way. But the joy was quickly dampened when Victoria, nine weeks pregnant, received news that would turn her life upside down.

Victoria (29) is HIV positive. But amidst the horror, there is also a silver lining – her loving husband and son are negative.

“We were in seventh heaven”

“Our adventure began like a fairy tale with a positive pregnancy test that made our hearts leap with joy. The first exam confirmed our joy, we were in seventh heaven”, Victoria told Dailymail. But a storm of dark clouds waited in the doctor’s room. The British beauty was informed about her low blood platelet level and HIV diagnosis. Thoughts were racing: Does Brad have this? Did he give it to me? Did I pass it on to him?

Low viral load

Despite the low viral load and immediate antiretroviral treatment, fear remained a constant companion. But Victoria decided to face the stigma and share her story on social media to give other people hope.

–>> Sign for solidarity and tolerance

Reactions online have been a mix of support and hate, but Victoria refuses to let that get her down. “HIV doesn’t discriminate, but people do,” she says boldly.

“I love you”

During the stigmatization, Brad stands by her side in solidarity and assures her of his unconditional love. “’I love you and we will get through this together’ were her words of encouragement,” says the new mother.

–>> “Discrimination makes life difficult for HIV-positive people”

Today, thanks to medication, Victoria leads a normal life and the greatest gift for her is having given birth to her healthy, HIV-negative son. With hope in their hearts, they now plan to expand their family. (VOL.AT)
