Empire State Building Turns Green To Support Eagles, Generating Firestorm: ‘You’re Dead To Me’

The Empire State Building in the heart of New York City glowed green Sunday night to show its support for the Philadelphia Eagles after the team won the NFC Championship and secured a spot in Super Bowl LVII.

The idea that one of the most iconic buildings in the world, in whose backyard the New York Giants and New York Jets play, would light up green to support a rival didn’t sit well with some football fans.

DeVonta Smith led the Eagles with two catches for 36 yards. AJ Brown had four catches for 28 yards.

Things didn’t get any better for the social media team after the Empire State Building account tweeted that it changed its color to red in support of the Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the Cincinnati Bengals to earn the AFC to win championship.

In the final moments, Patrick Mahomes galloped to a first down and gained more yards after being knocked down when he was already out.

It prepared a field goal by Harrison Butker.
