This pick is in addition to the two Slovakian players won in Thursday’s first round, namely forwards Juraj Slafkovsky and Filip Mesar.

Beck, 18, played with the Mississauga Steelheads in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s final season. He had 51 points, including 21 goals, in 68 games.

With the 62nd overall selection, CH relied on defender Lane Hutson, a product of the US development team. Despite his small size, Hutson is known for his speed.

The Canadian’s next pick landed in 75th place in the third round. Austrian-born striker Vinzenz Rohrer was the lucky winner. After wearing the colors of the Ottawa 67 of the Ontario Hockey League in 2021-2022, he had 48 points, including 25 goals, in 64 games. The CH ended the third round by calling up a Swede, defender Adam Engstrom.

In the fourth round, the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge targeted Owen Sound Attack left winger Cedrick Guindon. In his first season in the OHL, the Ontarian collected 59 points, including 30 goals, in 68 games.

With the 130th pick, Montreal tried its luck with center Jared Davidson, a four-year Western Junior League veteran who made huge strides in 2021-2022 at the age of 20.
