London's iconic Leceister Square cinema looked like the planet Arrakis on Thursday night to host one of the most anticipated cinematic events of the year: the world premiere of the sequel to Dune.

After Mexico and Paris, it was now the turn of the British capital to roll out the red carpet for Quebec filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and the many stars of his new science fiction film “Dune: Part Two”.
The organizers of the evening placed great emphasis on this special event, billed as the true world premiere of the film. A desert backdrop with real sand on the floor awaited the stars on the red carpet. Some of the film's stars – including Zendaya, Florence Pugh and Anya Taylor-Joy – wore futuristic outfits for the occasion.
Anya Taylor-Joy also confirmed on the red carpet that she has a role in the film – information that has not yet been officially announced.

Over the next few days, Denis Villeneuve and the cast of Dune will continue their world tour to promote the film. Stopovers are planned primarily in South Korea and New York. The Quebec filmmaker will also present the film at his home in Montreal on February 28, accompanied by Timothée Chalamet.
Dune: Part Two hits theaters in Quebec on March 1st.
