The neighboring residential building with five apartments was evacuated as a preventive measure. Smoke and heat were present in the building, but the fire did not spread.

“The damage to the garage is extensive. Only one of the residential units at 164, 172 Rue De L’Espinay cannot be restored due to damage caused by heat and smoke,” however, Mr. Lajoie clarified.
