The Paris Saint-Germain Brazilian striker, who is recovering from ankle surgery, invited his admirers to follow his online casino session on Tuesday. This show was made as part of a promotional partnership with Blaze, a gambling platform.
The 31-year-old played with a starting stake of 1 million euros. That sum quickly melted away as the games progressed as luck wasn’t on Neymar Jr’s side.
In a video that has gone viral, the Brazilian can be seen pretending to cry after losing everything at roulette. Then he starts laughing. The whole thing is accompanied by a dissonant cover of Celine Dion’s song My Heart Will Go On. However, it is not known whether this sum was taken over by the Blaze platform.
Neymar’s extra-sporting antics draw a lot of ink in Europe.
The striker drew criticism after PSG lost to FC Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. The latter was spotted in a McDonald’s late at night after entering a €10,000 poker tournament.
Neymar Jr became one of the highest paid footballers in history when he signed a €222m deal with the Parisian club in 2017.
He recently extended his contract until 2027.
