Jay Du Temple announced the dates of his Canadian tour on social media on Tuesday, which will take him to Moncton, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Sudbury and Toronto. In a new episode of his podcast about Jay Du Temple, the comedian explains in detail how this project came about and how it is implemented.
The one who ended his previous tour with a show at the Bell Center and a head shave for Leucan was looking for a unique way to close the Fin chapter.
Last winter, while training for an Ironman, Jay Du Temple listened to podcasts from runners who had raced in the United States and Australia.
“I was listening to it on the exercise bike and at some point it occurred to me: I could run and bike across Canada to do shows,” he says.
He will do this from May 7th to July 22nd. He estimates he will run approximately 750 km and cycle 6,000 km while raising funds for the Douglas Foundation and mental health research.
“It’s the most self-project in the world. What I love about life is performance and sport. It’s a mix of both,” the comedian adds in the episode.
Presented entirely in French, the tour ends in Montreal at Place des Arts. Jay Du Temple will be performing there over five evenings at five different locations.
