A video by the activist group “Just Stop Oil” shows another protest action, this time at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.
Environmental activists have the wax figure of King Charles III. bombed with chocolate cake at Madame Tussauds in London. As the Just Stop Oil group announced, two of its members smashed cakes in the face of the wax figure of the 73-year-old monarch, who is considered a staunch environmentalist, on Monday. Police recorded a total of four arrests.
A group video shows the two activists taking two cakes out of their pockets and smashing them into the wax figure’s face. One exclaims, “The science is clear, the requirements are simple. Just stop the oil. That’s child’s play” – using the term “piece of cake”.
A spokesperson for Madame Tussauds confirmed the incident. According to him, the wax museum should remain open, except for the area with the royal family.
Tomato soup, mashed potatoes, chocolate cake
The Just Stop Oil group had been carrying out various actions and blockades since the beginning of the month, including inundating activists at London’s National Gallery with tomato soup from Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpiece Sunflowers. With her actions, she wants to stop all new oil and gas projects.
On Sunday, two activists from the “Last Generation” group threw mashed potatoes on a painting by Impressionist painter Claude Monet in Potsdam’s Barberini Museum. There were also spectacular protests by environmental and climate activists in other cities. The activists only blocked car traffic at the Praterstern in Vienna-Leopoldstadt on Monday morning. A climate activist was attacked.
