In another publication about everyday life on a social network, as she began to do since the singer’s death at the end of November last year, Fernanda Esteves, widow of Erasmo Carlos, commented on an unusual moment at home. She said that when narrator Cléber Machado mentioned the artist’s name, the TV turned itself on.
“Darling, do you remember the TV turning itself on every day when you moved in? We called Gamba, he couldn’t figure it out, we got used to it and she stopped doing it on her own. Throughout her hospital stay and in the days after her death the tv never came on, i even forgot it did, well today it happened when i came into the living room, pelé’s parade was running, i left it on and stayed here on the office floor, on my favorite spot in the house and near you. Cléber Machado spoke for you,” she said.
In Instagram Stories, Fernanda explained that she doesn’t think this is a sign: “I don’t think it’s a sign, it’s just a coincidence… You were so special to so many people. My pride! I need to fix this TELEVISION”.
Erasmo died on November 22 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 81 from complications of panniculitis complicated by sepsis of cutaneous origin, an inflammation of the skin. The artist had been hospitalized for two weeks at Barra D’Or Hospital with edema syndrome.
With 29 studio albums released between 1965 and 2019 and five live albums, Erasmo Carlos was one of the pioneers of rock n’ roll in Brazil, a musical style he has embraced since the beginning of his career, influenced by one of his greatest idols, Elvis Presley.
