Erectile Dysfunction: Nasal Spray treats the problem in 5 minutes

The use of Viagra and other drugs that have Sildenafil as an active ingredient are the most common for treating erectile dysfunction. Sometimes the man with this “little problem” can resort to other means with Vardenafil. However, the default setting is to opt for pills. Now Australian scientists are testing a nasal spray that improves the picture from 5 minutes after the first spray.

The nasal spray against erectile dysfunction with vardenafil, known under the trade name Spontan, is already in clinical trials, which means it is being tested on humans. Australiabased pharmaceutical company LTR Pharma recently received approval for a new round of research that will begin in July this year. Healthy males living in the city of Sydney are recruited. The solution is scheduled to be launched in the US in up to two years.

Vardenafil nasal spray for erectile dysfunction

The aim of the study is to understand whether Vardenafil spray is actually faster, safer and more effective than another conventional drug, Levitra, which has the same active ingredient. If the results are positive, the drug company will seek approval for its fastacting sexual impotence drug.

In the preliminary analysis phase, LTR Pharma points out that conventional medicines usually take more than 30 minutes, unlike their preparation, which works between 5 and 15 minutes, because they are in pill form, they have to be absorbed by the digestive system first and then they get there into the blood. In theory, the nasal spray would shorten the process.

“Current oral pills like Viagra can take up to an hour to work, and many men are unhappy with the results because they don’t work all the time or when they want them to,” Lee Rodne, the drugmaker’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

More fastacting sprays for sexual impotence

With a different composition, the North American company Aspargo Labs has already received approval for its oral spray note that the use is not nasal with sildenafil in some markets such as Germany, Holland, Mexico and Spain. Commercially, the compound against sexual impotence is called Hezkue.

Despite different mechanisms and principles of action, the two sprays try to solve the problem of erectile dysfunction. In general, men suffering from the problem are unable to get or maintain an erection firm enough to have good intercourse. Side effects include loss of selfesteem and mental health issues. Although the condition is more common in men aged 50 and older, it can affect anyone and has different causes.
