ESPN apologizes for woman who shows breast during Sugar Bowlplay

Washington defeats Texas in the CFP semifinals to advance to the national title game

Washington edged out Texas and will face Michigan for the national title. We enlisted college football great Matt Leinart to find out what makes the Huskies so special.

ESPN apologized for showing a woman flashing her breasts during its broadcast of the College Football Playoff semifinal between Washington and Texas in the Sugar Bowl on Monday.

In the third quarter of play, ESPN used a shot from a camera walking down Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter, a typical transition in bowl games, to showcase the host city before play resumed. In the shot, a woman can be seen looking up, exposing the top of her shirt and revealing her breast. The woman then covered her breast before the clip ended.

ESPN acknowledges the incident and apologizes for airing it to a national audience.

“We regret that this happened and apologize for the video being broadcast on television,” ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Camera footage of cities and outdoor areas is typically taken before the game and footage of the incident quickly trended on social media after it aired.

Washington then defeated Texas 37-31 and faced Michigan in the College Football Playoff national championship game on January 8.
