Shaka Hislop, a former soccer player who now works as an analyst for ESPN, passed out during a live broadcast ahead of Sunday’s game at the Rose Bowl.

Hislop and co-host Dan Thomas performed ahead of a friendly between AC Milan and Real Madrid. During the live segment, Hislop can be seen wobbling before losing his balance and tipping forward. Thomas calls his name before saying, “We need help.”

Halfway through the game, Thomas then came on air to give another update.

“As it stands, that’s good news,” Thomas told viewers. “He’s conscious; he speaks. I think he’s a little embarrassed about the whole thing. He has apologized many times. [He’s] not a man who likes it when people make a fuss about him. Apparently, [it’s] It’s far too early to make any diagnosis, but it’s important that Shaka is conscious. And we spoke to his family too, because you can imagine watching that live – there can’t be many more things to scare you in the family.”

Thomas added that they spoke to Hislop’s wife and “everything looks fine”.
