“I never thought it could last forever. The ending was almost always on my mind,” explained Jesse Armstrong.

“I had a meeting with the other writers before we started writing Season 4, around November or December of 2021, and I said, ‘Look, I think that should be the end. But what do you think? […] and the decision to end[the series]was reinforced by the writing,” he said.

A hit with both the public and critics, HBO-produced Succession is a dark and roiling chronicle of a powerful family being torn apart to seize control of a conglomerate, especially in the media. The first episode aired in 2018.

The program has won a number of awards, including Best Drama Series at the 2022 Emmys.

The series is inspired by the black humor of media kings Sumner Redstone and Rupert Murdoch, whose news corp group is one of the largest media empires in the world, including broadcasters Fox Network or UK newspapers The Times and The Sun.
