Estopinha, the first Brazilian pet influencer, dies at the age of 14

Estopinha, the first pet influencer in Brazil, died this Wednesday (9/20) at the age of 14. The news was confirmed by the tutor himself, Alexandre Rossi, on his Instagram. She couldn’t resist a nail infection and after taking medication, she developed severe stomach problems and was hospitalized.

“Estopimha was gone… we slept together and she was pain free. That was the most important thing for me. She was cared for at night and was able to rest in my bed with all the affection I could give,” Alexandre wrote in the caption.

Rossi said a memorial service celebrating Estopinha’s life will be held this afternoon. It will take place between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Pet Memorial in São Bernardo do Campo in São Paulo and is open to “everyone who can and wants to be present at this celebration” and will also be broadcast online.

This Tuesday (September 19th), her guardian had already told fans that he was afraid of losing her. “I don’t know how much longer I’ll have with Estopinha. “I felt really bad today.” The animal behavior specialist broke the rules of the condominium where he lives and closed his pet area to take his fourlegged daughter for a last walk.

Estopinha was a stray who won the Internet for her kindness. She was adopted by the Rossi family when she was one year old and had been returned twice before by people who accused her of “bad behavior.” However, when she was adopted by Rossi, she was reeducated, proving that adult dogs can also be trained and live in harmony with their family.

His Instagram account had more than 700,000 followers. There he shared his daily life, such as his walks and games, with his brothers Miah and Bartô. Estopinha is followed by more than 2 million people on Facebook.
