The Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) has launched an investigation into the circumstances of a police operation after the lifeless body of a woman was discovered in a wooded area in Stukely-Sud in Estrie on Sunday afternoon. .
It all started when a Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officer intercepted a vehicle at around 5:25 p.m. while the driver left the scene with threatening remarks.
When officers tried to locate the driver, they received a call from a woman saying someone was trying to get home.
SQ police went to the woman’s home and arrested the suspect, who told police her body was found in the woods.
Police later found the body of the 67-year-old woman, who was actually found in the woods in front of an apartment building.
The man was taken to hospital but there is no fear for his life, according to the BEI, which will try to unravel the thread of this story, the nature of which is visibly nebulous.
Five BEI investigators were assigned to the case, while a parallel investigation was entrusted to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
