Etienne Boulay was on the late night set of Julie Snyder to talk about the new season of The testers with his buddy Patrice Belanger.
In fact, during this presence, he revisited the previous seasons of the cult show, several years ago, and what he made his colleagues at the time experience because of his problems with consumption.
“Étienne, in your biography (…) there is a passage dedicated to the period when you were recording The testers and (…) it wasn’t the best moment of your life,” asks the moderator.
“I wasn’t always top, there were serious consumption problems in the beginning. Pat and the whole gang, Marc-André (…) I let them live in all colors. I wasted shooting days,” admits Étienne.
“Were you afraid of losing him someday?” says Julie Snyder to Patrice Bélanger.
“Yes, yes, Étienne did not feel (…) I allow myself to talk about it because he did a biography and everything, but what inspires me is the man he has become today and then how he got away with it. But at the time we were afraid for our friend, he was devastated,” reveals Patrice Bélanger sympathetically.
“Pat, I remember you taking me out to dinner one time. He called me a lot, he checked me out, on the days we were shooting he called me the day before to find out if I was ok. He had to take my hand for a moment,” adds the former athlete, who is very aware of this dark time in his life.
A time he’s behind him though and for the reboot of the show he’s in better shape than ever!
We can’t wait to see her again on April 13th on Z (9pm).
