In an “increasingly complex geostrategic context, dominated by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and heavily influenced by the crisis in the Middle East,” which “continues to endanger European and global security,” the EU reaffirms “its full and unequivocal commitment. “The accession perspective of the Western Balkans and calls for an acceleration of the accession process on the basis of credible reforms by the partners, fair and strict conditionality and the performance principle, which is based on reciprocity in our interest.” This is what we read in the declaration of the 27 at the EU-Balkans summit .
