Vienna (OTS) – Vladimir Putin created the most threatening regime in the world – this is the central thesis of the new book by Russia expert and Moscow correspondent for the German weekly “Die Zeit”, Michael Thumann. The outcome of the war in Ukraine and the possible use of nuclear weapons depends on the Russian president. What can and should the West do to prevent the conquest of Ukraine and force Putin to negotiate? Can the delivery of German and American main battle tanks change things, or is German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s decision too late? Putin’s most powerful weapon of war is fear of nuclear escalation. Do the recent corruption scandals and resignations of senior officials mean that Ukraine’s resilience is weakening? Is a new Russian offensive imminent?
