Sweden won the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest titled Tattoo, worn by singer Loreen, on Saturday night May 13th. France, represented by La Zarra, finished 16th. The artist was particularly disappointed with this result, while the bookies predicted a place close to the top 5.

With that title, Sweden equals Ireland’s winning record in the competition and their seven successes. The result came about late in the evening after endless tension through the combination of the points awarded by the jury and the audience. After the artists’ extravagant performances, the audience voted on which country would win the Eurovision Song Contest, hosted by the United Kingdom in Liverpool on behalf of the defending champions Ukraine.
Sweden thus won the competition, closely followed by Finland, then Israel, Italy and Norway. Ukraine, winner of the 2022 edition, took sixth place.
The 26 performers threw all their might into the fray, from Italian Marco Mengoni, who finished in a sparkling tank top while the microphone shook with emotion, to La Zarra, Quebecer, representing France and perched on a pillar several meters above perched on the ground . A show that was not enough to convince viewers and specialist audiences. France haven’t won with Marie Myriam since 1977.
