Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 this Saturday (13), which is considered the largest music competition in Europe. The award went to Swedish singer Loreen, 39, who topped the podium for the second time in her career, now with the single Tattoo, released in 2023.

“I am very happy. Thanks a lot for this. This is for you,” she said emotionally as she accepted the award.

With the win, Sweden took their seventh title and shared the biggest winner with Ireland.

Personally, Loreen reached another milestone: was the second artist in history to win the festival twice. She won the award in 2012 with the song “Euphoria”. The other twotime master artist is Irishman Johnny Logan, who created a double for the country in the 1980s.

Loreen’s win at the 2023 edition was close. With 583 points, the Swedish artist surpassed Finnish rapper Kaarija, who fired after the public vote and ended the dispute with 526 votes, for the single “Cha Cha Cha.”

Third place went to Israel with the song “Unicorn” by singer Noa Kirel.

This year’s celebration took place in Liverpool, UK and included 26 countries in the final dispute.
