Singer Slimane will represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with his song “Mon amour”. He is present on the set of 20 Heures on Wednesday, November 8th and happily talks about his candidacy.
Singer Slimane will represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. “I do it to represent my country. I do it to sing this song, to sing love. I think we need it more than ever. It’s an honor,” says the happy person who doesn’t have the “competitive spirit.” He adds: “Ever since I was little I have wanted to be heard, I have wanted to be listened to. There are 200 million viewers on the Eurovision stage. (…) As a singer, it’s a fantasy.”
“A love letter”
Slimane states that “the Eurovision team” contacted him. “The only answer I got was, ‘Yes, if I have the song.’ At that time I was on tour (…) with my two friends with whom I compose my songs. This song was born, “My Love” was born. Once it existed, it was hard to let go. “Imagine something different than in.” in this context of the Eurovision Song Contest. This title Mon amour is “a love letter”. According to him, “love brings us together” and “makes us live”.
