Former child actor Evan Ellingson has died at the age of 35.
The 6’3″ star was best known for his work with David Caruso in the television series CSI: Miami, with Kiefer Sutherland in 24 and with Cameron Diaz in the film My Sister’s Keeper.
He was found dead in the bedroom of his sober house in the Southern California city of Fontana in San Bernardino County on Sunday, according to a Monday report from TMZ.
His father Michael confirmed Evans’ death at the scene. He added that his son struggled with drugs but has improved in recent years and is in recovery.
According to the coroner’s office, no foul play appears to have occurred and the cause of death has not yet been released.

According to IMDB, Evan’s older brother Austin Ellingson died of a drug overdose in 2008.
Evan is survived by his daughter Brooklynn, whom he gave birth to the same year.
The actor, who was born in La Verne in Southern California, appeared to have taken a long break from work in Hollywood before his unexpected death.
Evan hasn’t been on screen in over a decade.
His last role was as Kyle Harmon in a 2010 episode of CSI: Miami. He appeared in a total of 18 episodes of the spooky crime series.
His first acting role was in the 2001 television film Living In Fear, in which he played “young Chuck” at the age of 12.
He next appeared as Young Luke Spencer in a 2001 episode of the soap opera General Hospital.
Then came a small role as Alden Boy in “The Gristle” in 2001.
From 2001 to 2002 he starred in 10 episodes of the TV series Titus alongside Christopher Titus and Stacy Keach.

He then appeared on Mad TV as Church Camp Boy and in Time Changer as Roger.
In 2003 he played Adam in the short film “Rules Of The Game” and in 2005 he played the role of Benjamin Givens in the film “Confession” which starred Pete Greene and Chris Pine.
Complete Savages was a return to television; Evan appeared in 19 episodes from 2004 to 2005.
In 2005, he played David Cook in an episode of Bones with David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel.
He played Mark Edwards opposite Michael Angarano in the 2006 film “The Bondage” and he also had a role as “Kid Marine” in Clint Eastwood’s epic war film “Letters From Iwo Jima.”

Evan landed another TV series the next year: in 2007, he was cast as Josh Bauer, the nephew of Kiefer Sutherland’s anti-terrorism agent Jack Bauer, in the thriller “24.”
He appeared in a total of 10 episodes of the acclaimed series, in which Jack dealt with assassinations, nuclear attacks, bioterrorism, torture, traitors and sleeper cells.
Ellingson then worked on Walk The Talk and State of Mind.
In 2009, his most important feature film role followed in “My Sister’s Keeper” with Diaz.
In CSI: Miami he played the son of David Caruso’s Lt. Horatio Caine and Julia Winston.
In July 2009, he spoke to Philstar Global about starting work in show business at a young age.
He said: “I never had the same childhood experience with my friends.”
“I never had time with them anymore.” However, my childhood was a cool one. I’ve been busy doing the things I love. I have no regrets because I discovered my passion for acting early on.”
According to IMDB, he was discovered at a skate park and asked to not only skate for the Vans PeeWee team but also do a commercial for the Vans Company.
