Evan Rachel Wood is not dropping her rape claims against ex Marilyn Manson despite being sued for defamation.
The 34-year-old actress appeared on Good Morning America on Monday and said she stood by “everything I said about the abuse allegations.”
When asked if the allegations made against her in Manson’s lawsuit were false, she replied, “I don’t believe I’m legally allowed to comment on any of the allegations, but I’m pretty sure the truth is on my side.”
The ‘Thirteen’ star also appeared on ‘The Look’ on Monday and reiterated her accusations that the 53-year-old rocker ‘wooed’ her at a very early age so he could ‘manipulate’ her.
She claimed that Manson raped her on the set of the 2007 music video “Heart-Shaped Glasses”, which was denied by both the singer and his lawyer.
“Honestly, we would have to sit here for six hours for me to get through. But ultimately, yes, the acts of violence he committed against me and a number of other victims – men and women – are absolutely horrific,” Wood told The View.
“But the most insidious thing he did and what people like him do is that they completely destroy your self-esteem. He made me forget who I am.”
Manson alleged in his lawsuit that Wood and artist Ilma Gore provided the “co-conspirators” with scripts to ensure that all “topics for discussion” would be covered in their interviews. Charbonneau
Wood also mentioned other alleged victims of Manson’s sexual assault, stating that the Beautiful People performer has a “pattern of his abuse.”
At least 15 women, including actress Esme Bianco, accused Manson of varying degrees of sexual, psychological and physical abuse. He denied all charges through his lawyers.
When Wood was asked again about Manson’s lawsuit against her in The Look, the Westworld actress replied, “I can’t obviously talk about any specific allegations in the lawsuit, but I’m not afraid, I’m sad,” , adding that it is “part of the retaliation that silences the survivors, that’s to be expected.”
In response to Wood’s TV appearances and her documentary Phoenix Rising, Manson’s lawyer Howard King told Page Six on Tuesday: “As we detailed in our legal action, nothing that Evan Rachel Wood, Ilma Gore or their chosen ones said accomplices. in this matter can be trusted.
“It’s just the same. But then again, what else can you expect from a band that spreads lies after lies about Brian? [Warner, Manson’s real name]?
In a lawsuit filed on March 2, Manson accused Wood and her girlfriend Gore, again and again, of “conspiring” to defame him for their own monetary gain.
Wood first came out that Manson was her abuser in February 2021, stating that he allegedly “started courting” her when she was a teenager and “terribly abused” her for years.
The former couple dated from 2006 to 2010 and were briefly engaged.
Wood went into more detail about the alleged violence in her new HBO documentary Phoenix Rising. In a two-part special, she claims that Manson forced her to drink his blood and raped, cut and beat her without consent.
Wood also shared on GMA that she was once “severely punished” when she went to Manson’s house to try to “defuse the situation” after he allegedly threatened suicide.
Lawyers for Manson alleged in the complaint that Wood and Gore, 30, used their movie project to “recruit, coordinate and pressure women who were associated with Warner to make false accusations of violence against him.”
In a previous statement to Page Six, Manson’s attorney, King, also accused Wood and Gore of using an alleged “fabricated FBI letter” to “convince others to join their crusade” and “trick HBO into distributing a one-sided ‘documentary’ film.” about the existence of a completely fictitious federal investigation.
“Despite the fact that HBO and the producers were aware of these serious violations, so far they have chosen to act without taking into account the facts,” the lawyer said. “But the evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Wood and Gore is overwhelming – and this lawsuit will hold them accountable.”
Manson’s legal team confirmed to Page Six on Tuesday: “As we have stated from the outset, Mr. Warner categorically denies any allegations of sexual assault or abuse of anyone.”
