Evan Rachel Wood is asking YouTube to remove Marilyn Manson’s 2007 music video for Heart-Shaped Glasses. The Westworld actress shared a petition on her Instagram Stories calling for the video to be removed after revealing she was allegedly drugged and raped during filming. Given this information, the video violates YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Policies. The petition now has nearly 30,000 signatures.

The petition reads: “Survivors and allies must come together to eliminate things like this. This shouldn’t still be allowed on YouTube or circulating anywhere else. Evan has repeatedly victimized herself to bring about change and a statute of limitations in the state of California and doesn’t deserve a constant reminder of her online sexual assault.”

Wood’s documentary Phoenix Rising details the domestic abuse she allegedly suffered during her relationship with shock rocker Marilyn Manson. The documentary, directed by Amy Berg (This Is Personal, The Case Against Adnan Syed), explores the physical, emotional and sexual violence allegedly committed by Manson and Wood’s dedicated activism for domestic violence survivors. Since Wood outed her abuser, several women have come forward to describe their own allegedly abusive relationships with Manson.

YouTube spokesman Jack Malon issued a statement, saying, “We are closely monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action if we discover there has been a violation of our creator responsibility policies.” Of course, this would hardly be the first times YouTube refuses to remove videos in direct violation of its policies. Manson has denied the allegations and has filed a countersuit against Wood for defamation.

Phoenix Rising is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
