Evaristo Costa is hospitalized for complications from Crohn's disease

The journalist Evaristo Costa, known for presenting news on Rede Globo, was hospitalized this Friday (12/12) after suffering complications related to Crohn's disease. On his Instagram profile, he shared the medical care and symptoms that led him to the hospital, where he had to spend the night. Evaristo Costa lives in England and will undergo treatment there.

The wellknown social media journalist with more than 7 million followers on Instagram updates information about his health. “And my 'dear' Crohn's disease brought me back to the doctor with some complications. And now back to the emergency room. They ask me if I'm in pain. Yes, I have a bad stomach ache,” complained Evaristo Costa.

He also described the problems he suffers from the disease. “In addition to lots of diarrhea (which may contain blood), fever and weight loss. All of this leads to weakness and fatigue. Low immunity makes my body vulnerable to the invasion of viruses and bacteria, like what happened to my leg a month ago. “If I don't take care of myself, it could lead to complications such as anemia and weight loss,” he said.

This situation, adds Evaristo, makes him immunologically weakened. “Low immunity makes my body vulnerable to invasion by viruses and bacteria, as happened to my leg a month ago. If I don't take care of myself, complications such as anemia and serious infections can occur,” he wrote.

Crohn's disease

Chronic gastrointestinal syndrome Crohn's disease affects the small intestine and large intestine, but can also affect other parts of the gastrointestinal tract. It is considered serious and represents a risk factor for colon cancer, but there is no specific reason for the development of this disease.

The disease can affect people of all ages, but it most commonly occurs between the ages of 20 and 30. The main symptoms are chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, weight loss and rectal bleeding, according to the Health Ministry.
