All at once leads the Oscar race with 11 nominations

Everything Everywhere All at Once Wins Prestigious Hollywood Award – Radio-Canada.ca

Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, both 35, the film beat Steven Spielberg and won Best Feature at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Annual Gala in Beverly Hills.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It’s been a great year for our little film, which somehow continues on its way, said Daniel Kwan, visibly surprised.

With its crazy sci-fi storyline, Everything Everywhere All at Once tells the story of a laundromat owner who, exhausted with her administrative work, suddenly disappears into parallel universes.

The film was a huge hit last year, grossing around $100 million worldwide. He has been nominated for eleven Oscars, leading the race for the prestigious statuettes, which will be presented in Hollywood on March 12.

The DGA, which ranks the best directors in the industry, offers a very prestigious recognition to the work of other filmmakers. This is her seventy-fifth awards ceremony.

This award ceremony is also considered a good barometer for the Oscars. 17 of the 19 directors honored by the DGA in recent years also won the Oscar for best director or best director in the same year.

The other directors nominated were Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin), Todd Field (Tár), Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and Steven Spielberg for his semi-autobiographical film The Fabelmans.
