Ex-Bill Clinton adviser predicts secret files debacle will sideline Biden in 2024

Ex-Clinton aide says Biden’s secret files debacle will put him out of the running for the White House in 2024 over documents about son Hunter’s ‘major bribery scandal’ in Ukraine

  • Political operator Dick Morris advised both Bill Clinton and Donald Trump
  • He shared a poll showing Biden has just 25% support among Dems for 2024
  • It comes after a new NBC poll shows 67% of Americans find Biden and Trump’s handling of secret files at least slightly “concerning”.

Bill Clinton’s former aide predicted on Sunday that the secret files debacle ensnaring President Joe Biden will “put the Democrat out of the running” for 2024.

“This is going to be the absolute end for Biden,” said Dick Morris, who worked with Clinton when he was Governor of Arkansas and during his first term in the White House.

As many as 30 documents with secret markings have been recovered from Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware and a Washington, DC think tank he once used as an office.

It emerged months after a high-profile raid on the home of Donald Trump, a president Morris also advised, in which dozens of top-secret files were recovered from his Mar-a-Lago Florida estate.

And amid Biden’s mounting debacle, it emerged that classified documents were also found in the home of Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence this month.

“The issue here isn’t whether everyone takes home classified documents,” Morris told John Catsimatidis of the Cats Roundtable on WABC radio.

He claimed Biden’s situation was outstanding because some of the documents recovered from his private quarters contained “classified information about American policy toward Ukraine.”

While Biden was vice president – the period from which several of the documents are dated – he had spearheaded anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine. His son, meanwhile, was on the board of a Ukrainian energy company for several years from 2014.

Hunter Biden’s foreign dealings are the subject of investigations by Congress and the Justice Department – but the President himself has not been implicated in any wrongdoing.

But Morris claimed on Sunday that Biden’s secret documents were part of a “major bribery scandal” involving his son and his son’s business in Ukraine.

“It will put Biden out of the running,” he claimed.

The former White House aide also shared the results of a poll conducted with veteran pollster John McLaughlin that reportedly shows Biden leading the pack of potential Democratic nominees for 2024 — but with just 25 percent support.

“If Biden, as president, cannot get more than 25 percent of the primary votes in his own party, that is near death. He’s so incredibly vulnerable,” Morris said.

“You would think he would be at least 40 or 50 percent. That means pretty much anyone who breathes on it can knock it over.’

Although the series of classified document disclosures became something of a public relations crisis for Biden, his attorneys have continued to point out that the president’s approach to classified files is significantly different from that of his predecessor.

Biden’s attorneys turned over documents to the Justice Department as soon as they were found and have pledged to work with investigators at every step — including facilitating a recent search by federal officials that found additional documents from Biden’s home last weekend.

In contrast, Trump has been accused of misleading federal investigators and National Archives officials and delaying the recovery of classified documents from his Florida mansion for many months.

The alleged cover-up was the driving force behind the FBI executing a search warrant on Mar-a-Lago in the early hours of August 8th.

But a new NBC poll on Sunday suggests Americans are just as upset with Biden as they are with Trump.

Exactly 67 percent of respondents said it was in some way “concerning” that secret documents were found in the homes of both leaders.
