Florence Pugh is getting honest about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Zach Braff.
The A Good Person actress, who graces the cover of Vogue’s winter issue, opened up about her relationship with actor-director Braff in the accompanying story.
“We weren’t written on anyone’s face,” Pugh said of her time with the 47-year-old Scrubs star. “It was just that people didn’t like it.”
The 27-year-old actress continued, “They pictured me with someone younger and someone in blockbusters. I think young relationships in Hollywood get twisted so easily because they contribute to the gossip pages. It’s exciting to watch. And I think I was in a relationship that didn’t do any of that.”

Vogue also chatted to Braff for the cover story, who lavished praise on his ex-girlfriend. The two worked together on the upcoming film A Good Person; Pugh stars and Braff directs.
“I just think she’s one of the greatest actresses of her generation,” said the Garden State actor-director. “She’s just magnetic. You can’t take your eyes off her.”
“And it’s not just her beauty and it’s not just her acting skills, it’s this thing, this magical thing that goes beyond the screen where everyone goes: I want to see what that person is doing,” he gushed.

After first connecting on social media, Braff and Pugh took their relationship offline while working together on the short film In the Time It Takes to Get There. Although they never revealed how they went from friends to something else, they were first spotted showing off a PDA during a trip to New York City in April 2019.
The two only publicly confirmed their relationship at the end of the year – but that didn’t stop fans from commenting on the romance. Pugh famously chose to face the haters head on, posting that she can make her own choices when it comes to her love life

She later revealed that she and Braff had quietly split in her cover story for the September 2022 issue of Harper’s BAZAAR.
“We tried to go through with this breakup without the world knowing about it because it was a relationship that everyone has an opinion on,” Pugh said. “We just felt like something like this would really benefit us if millions of people didn’t tell us how lucky they are that we’re not together. So we did that.”
“I automatically get a lump in my throat just talking about it,” she added.

Even after their split, the pair have proven they’re still friends, with Braff even wishing Pugh a happy birthday earlier this month.
Back in November, Pugh Braff sent support on Instagram while promoting an eBay auction to help wounded veterans.
“Bid on eBay for a 30 minute zoom with @donald_aison and I,” the 47-year-old Scrubs alum wrote, alongside a screenshot of an auction with him and Donald Faison. “ALL proceeds will go towards building specially designed homes for critically wounded veterans through Homes For Our Troops. LINK IN BIO!!!!!!”
“I’m definitely bidding for it,” Pugh commented.

Minutes later, Braff replied, “@florencepugh I’m sure you could get this for free, but it’s to a very good cause for veterans….”
Another Instagram user also left a comment, writing: “@zachbraff 10 Gryffindor points for flirting with @florencepugh here. 👍” In a since-deleted comment, Braff simply replied, “😐.”
