Matt Cassel’s football journey has taken him through a variety of roles, including as a replacement for Tom Brady during the 2008 season with the New England Patriots as part of his 15-year NFL career.

With all his quarterback experience to his name, the 41-year-old thinks he’d be a great fit to star in “Quarterback,” a new Netflix documentary.

“Hey @netflix, I’m watching ‘Quarterback'” Cassel tweeted Wednesday. “If you want to do a second season about a retired QB with five kids, my DMs are open.”

The series follows Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota as they take a detailed look at their position during the 2022 season for the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, and Atlanta Falcons.

Will Netflix pick up the former signalman in his place? We will see.

This isn’t the first time Cassel has used Twitter for a spot in a football documentary. He joked with Brady in 2021 about his desire to appear on Man in the Arena, a 10-episode series that chronicles Brady’s career through his 10 Super Bowl appearances.
