Calcio&Finanza reports that RedBird Capital Partners, Gerry Cardinale’s company that acquired the majority stake in AC Milan in August, has decided to invest around €100 million in Artists Equity, a film production company born out of Ben Affleck’s collaboration emerged and Matt Damon.
Ben Affleck reveals: “Artists Equity was developed by Matt and my longstanding passion for the art of storytelling and our shared desire to help creators realize their visions, as we have happily done throughout our careers. Our goal with Artists Equity is to build a creator-centric studio that optimizes the production process and shares in the success of projects. We are excited to partner with Gerry Cardinale and the RedBird team who have extensive experience building large platform companies”.
The young production house’s first project will be an untitled work Affleck wrote about the birth of Nike’s famous Air Jordan brand. Artists Equity is producing the film alongside Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures.
