Construction work to fortify Aaron Rodgers’ New Jersey mansion began Tuesday, hours before police and firefighters checked the property, a day after the New York Jets quarterback tore his Achilles tendon.
Rodgers, 39, purchased the stunning $9.5 million home over the summer as he began settling in New Jersey ahead of the start of the NFL season.
In exclusive photos for , dozens of landscapers can be seen outside the house on Tuesday to begin work on the front yard.
Hours later, photos for showed emergency crews outside the property, with fire engines and police cars parked in the driveway and street with their lights on.
Two firefighters were spotted walking down the driveway while a police officer exited the front door of the mansion.

A spokesman for the Cedar Grove Police Department told that the call came from another property on the block and that no fire actually broke out.
A car believed to be Rodgers’ was seen leaving the property earlier in the day, but it was unclear whether the quarterback was inside.
The former Green Bay Packers star appeared to add even more privacy to the home earlier in the day as workers built a rock wall that runs around the perimeter of the property.
New posts were added to the driveway to make room for a new privacy gate that opens and closes when Rodgers leaves or arrives at the property.
In August, sources told that Rodgers had purchased an eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion. According to real estate records, the home sold in late June for $9,500,000 – just a small fraction of the former Green Bay Packer’s $75 million deal with the Jets.
