Danny Cipriani’s marriage to his wife Victoria may have collapsed after she read dirty revelations about the rugby star’s sexual past in his autobiography, friends claim.
The 36-year-old athlete and the 42-year-old mental health campaigner, who married in April 2021, ended their relationship two weeks ago after a series of “difficult” arguments over text messages on his phone, Web exclusively revealed.
Victoria, 42, admitted she had reservations about some of the lurid content in Who Am I?, released in September, in which the 36-year-old ex-Englander boasted about sleeping with three women a day, “from porn stars to actresses to girls I know”. “Meeting in a cafe” at a time when “threesomes became the norm.”
The day the book came out, she asked, “Why didn’t he take out the chapters I asked him not to write?”
Now, just two months after the book’s release, their two-and-a-half-year marriage is over. Sources close to Victoria claim that his decision to reveal all about his sex life may have contributed to the shocking split.

A friend now told Web: “Victoria knew that dating a high-profile athlete would bring unwanted focus on their relationship.”
“She insisted that she wanted to be in control of what they shared publicly about themselves and ensured that every Instagram post was discussed and approved by both of them.”
“Victoria has revealed some intimate secrets, like her IVF battle, but that was her decision.”
“However, some of the stories in Danny’s book, particularly about his sex life with previous lovers, were quite difficult to understand when written down in black and white for everyone to see.”
The source added: “The marriage was never the same after that.”
Mother-of-two Victoria, who became a grandmother shortly after getting engaged in 2020, considers herself an incredibly private person.
She admitted to suffering from anxiety ahead of the book’s release, knowing the world would learn highly revealing details about her and Danny’s many A-list lovers, including models Kelly Brook and Katie Price and Hollywood wild child Lindsay Lohan.
And her fears about the consequences of Danny’s book have become increasingly apparent in recent weeks.

Danny revealed in the book how their relationship collapsed after Kelly, 43, suggested he do a lap dance at a Las Vegas strip club, sparking a heated argument which ended with him slitting his wrists.
He claimed he was drunk and that the stripper “seemed to be doing more than just dancing,” and admitted that he sang some cheesy lyrics to her before telling the dancer that he was planning on breaking up with Kelly and in would be back in Sin City next week.
But the stripper then told her friends in the club’s bathroom, which Kelly overheard.
He explained: “Kelly came out and punched me in the face” before being restrained by bouncers.
The evening’s chaos took a huge toll on Danny, who went back to the hotel and injured himself with a piece of broken glass.
Danny said: “I felt like I just couldn’t express how I was feeling because I had so much inside of me that I hadn’t dealt with yet. “That’s the way to go, in my opinion.”
After the split, Danny claimed the couple later had a secret rendezvous in Mauritius when she moved in with his former teammate Thom Evans, who is now engaged to Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he said: “I felt like it was fair game… I felt like what was mine wasn’t mine anymore. “I was friends with Thom. “It was definitely a difficult scenario.”
To his fellow A-list lovers, he described Mean Girls star Lindsay as “just really sweet” and was keen to point out that his romance with glamor girl and former Loose Women star Katie wasn’t a real relationship: “I didn’t.” Go out with Katie Price. But I slept with her.’
Danny’s penchant for oversharing proved to be a major disruptor in his relationship with Victoria.
Even when he confirmed the end of their marriage in an Instagram post on Monday, shortly after Web broke the story, Victoria was once again upset because she refused to have Danny speak publicly about their relationship.
She wrote angrily to her 11,200 followers on Instagram: “I’m not sure why Daniel needs to share his relationship status with Instagram.”
“I don’t wish for the invasion, could I ask for some privacy as I navigate through this fragile time? Thank you.”
Web reported on Monday how the couple, who have been together since June 2020, had hired divorce lawyers after splitting two weeks ago.
An insider revealed the marriage was going well until the summer when Victoria found messages on his phone that sparked several arguments.
The source added: “Victoria has been increasingly unhappy over the last few months. Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone which led to a heated argument between them and now they have broken up.”

Danny’s statement announcing the split said he wished his ex nothing but the best.
However, he made a mistake when he claimed that they were splitting up after four years of marriage – even though their wedding anniversary was already two years ago.
He shared: “Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after four years of marriage.
“Although we have had some wonderful times together, we have also realized that we are on a different journey and although this is sad news, it is also a new chapter for both of us in the search for our own happiness.” “I wish Victoria and her children nothing but the best.”
