EXCLUSIVE Former President Bill and former First Lady Hillary Clinton

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Bill and former First Lady Hillary Clinton keep their distance as they are spotted hiking in the Hamptons

Former President Bill Clinton and former Senator, Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton were somewhat distant while taking a hike in the Hamptons shortly after Bill’s 77th birthday.

The New York destination is about 115 miles east of the Clintons’ usual Empire State haven in Chappaqua.

Hillary wore a kaftan-style top, jeans and hiking boots for her walk on Sunday.

Husband Bill, who celebrated his birthday two days earlier, wore a navy blue T-shirt, navy shorts and comfortable trainers for his walk.

While Bill has largely stayed out of the limelight in recent months, Hillary only featured last week as she was booked on MSNBC on the night the recent indictment of former President Trump took place in Georgia.

Clinton appeared on MSNBC along with Rachel Maddow amid news that the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office had filed another lengthy indictment against him and some of his countrymen for their actions related to the 2020 election.

Though the former Secretary of State appeared visibly dazed at the news, she said it was a moment of “deep sadness that we have a former President who has been indicted on so many charges that go to the heart of the question of whether or not .” Our democracy would survive.

“He wanted to betray the United States and the citizens of our nation,” she said.

Clinton added that she will “wait and see what the indictments themselves say,” but “I don’t know that anyone should be happy with that.” It is a terrible moment for our country that a former president should be charged with these terribly important crimes .

“The only satisfaction can be that the system works,” she said.

In 2016, Clinton and Trump fought a famous duel: Trump won the election and sat in the White House for four years.

The two politicians’ love story dates back to their student days at Yale Law School in the early 1970s.

However, the couple’s highly public romance was marred by some well-known and embarrassing challenges, such as the sex scandal that erupted over his 18-month affair with then 22-year-old White House intern Lewinsky, which led to his impeachment in 1997 .

Clinton had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky from 1995 to 1997. At the time of the affair, she was 22 to 25 years old and he was 48 to 51 years old.

Lying about the secret romance famously led to his political downfall – the House of Representatives instituted impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998.

“I had no sexual relations with this woman, Ms. Lewinsky,” Clinton claimed in a 1998 televised address.

“I never told anyone to lie, not once; never. These claims are wrong. And I have to stand up for the American people again,” Clinton said in a Jan. 26 address, flanked by his wife.

At the time, Hillary called the affair rumors a “huge right-wing conspiracy.”

“The great story here, for anyone willing to find it, write about it, and explain it, is this: From the day he ran for president, he conspired against my husband,” he said the then First Lady on the allegations.

Clinton finally admitted in a taped grand jury testimony on August 17, 1998 that he had had an “inappropriate physical relationship” with Lewinsky. That evening, he issued a nationally televised statement admitting that his relationship with Lewinsky was “not appropriate.”

Lewinsky said she had sexual encounters with Clinton nine times over the course of two years.

The scandal led to Bill being indicted in 1998. However, he survived the Senate trial and remained in office through his second term.

Several women have also come forward, claiming they were either sexually abused by Clinton or had extramarital affairs with Clinton over the course of his political career and nearly five-decade marriage.

Clinton has since denied all allegations against him.
