EXCLUSIVE: Gemma Collins declares she’s finally happy with her body after years of yo-yo dieting, saying “I’m not going to waste my life constantly striving to get skinny.”

Gemma Collins has revealed that she doesn’t want to “waste” her life trying to be slim and says she’s happy with her body and her looks.

The former TOWIE star, 42, is often open about her weight and has now opened up about embracing her looks, saying she wasn’t “destined to be super skinny”.

In a body positive message, Gemma gushed about how happy she is with her body and said her focus is on exercising every day and eating straight from her garden.

Speaking to Web, Gemma admitted she doesn’t want to waste her life trying to transform herself and said others need to “accept” that “people have bigger bodies”.

“I eat from my garden, I don’t use pesticides, I eat really healthy, but sometimes we’re just who we are,” she said.

“My body is what it is, I’m not meant to be super skinny, I’m not meant to be super skinny and I’m not going to spend my whole life being something I’m not.”

“This is me, this is who I am, this is my body shape, this is my body type — sometimes people have to accept, people actually have bigger bodies and people are taller.”

“I’m not going to waste my life constantly striving to be skinny,” Gemma added as she promoted her new Agony Aunt campaign with Plusnet called Gemma’s Dilemmas.

In the past, Gemma has opened up extensively about her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, saying it has been “a struggle” to control her weight since she was diagnosed.

Now Gemma has spoken out about exercising and eating healthy every morning and says she tries to eat fresh food from her garden as much as possible.

She added, “I work out every morning anyway.” […] and as long as I do that, that’s it. “I don’t live my life to please other people or to please them, I just please myself.”

Gemma, who is passionate about the environment, is currently growing a variety of vegetables in her garden and is busy planting her winter vegetables.

She said she’s spent much of the summer working on her vegetable patches so she can have a whole range of healthy meals grown right in her garden.

She said, “I grew all my veggies and today we’re preparing our soil for winter veggies, so that’s what I did today.”

“Hopefully we’ll have some vacation time in a few weeks, but for now I’ve just had such a lovely summer gardening, experimenting with veggies and getting a fully functional garden where I can eat from my garden.”

On her Instagram page, she often shares snaps of her sprawling garden, showing off her veggie beds in bloom and the delicious and fresh meals she can prepare.

“Keeping things simple is the key to a happy life, babies. So let’s hope the nation follows my lead.”

Earlier this week, Gemma also opened up about her suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome [PCOS] and an underactive thyroid.

Showing off her curves in a leopard print bikini, she wrote on Instagram: ‘CARBOHYDRATED BARBIE FOR LIFE ✌’.

Calling attention to her ongoing health condition, she added, “With an underactive thyroid and PCOS, every day is a constant struggle, but do you know what goes with it?”

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal disorder that causes enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges. Symptoms include menstrual irregularities, excessive hair growth, acne and obesity.

This comes after Gemma shared a video of a recent workout session with her personal trainer last month and gave a rousing speech while breaking a sweat.

She told her 2.2 million followers, “That’s my exercise for the day!” If anyone’s struggling today, stand up.

“I’ve been moving and I feel great.” I feel empowered and ready for my weekend. “Yes I’ve been sweating, yes I’m in terrible pain this week but no pain no gain.”

Gemma continued, “A lot of people say to me, ‘Gemma, you’ve been struggling with your weight for so long, just get the surgery,’ but there’s just still that part of me that wants to do it naturally and doesn’t want to give up.”

“I don’t put down anyone who’s had surgery because everyone has a different story, but personally I’m a bit scared of surgery.”

“So this is going to take a while, but this time I’m feeling really positive.” Health is wealth.

“You can have all the money in the world, but if you don’t feel healthy, honey, you have nothing.”

“So if you’re feeling unmotivated today, get up, move, just feel, breathe, move and you’ll be fine!”

Last year, Gemma lost 8 pounds and revealed her salad consumption had pushed her “to the limit of being a Kardashian.”

Speaking exclusively to Web, she said: “I think it’s all about being happy. Now I organize my day and make sure I have breakfast in the morning.”

“I’m almost a Kardashian now that I’ve eaten so many Caesar salads.”

When asked if she would ever consider undergoing weight loss surgery like her ex-boyfriend James Argent, Gemma replied, ‘No! ‘Never’.

James, who dated Gemma on and off from 2011 to 2013, recently lost a whopping 30 pounds after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery.

Gemma continued: “Some people need it.” [surgery] and I understand and they have to make their decisions for them, but I don’t have to. “I’m beautiful, I’m tall, I’m successful, what more do I want from life?”
