Love Island’s Will Young has spoken about how his girlfriend Jessie Wynter helped him overcome his “stressful” mental health battle.
The pair began their whirlwind romance after meeting on the ITV dating show in January – and have been inseparable ever since.
Instead of returning to Australia after filming the show, Jessie flew to the UK with the popular young German Shepherd and moved in with him on his family’s 700-acre farm near Aylesbury, Bucks.
During an exclusive interview with Web ahead of the release of his new book, Will admitted that while many experiences on the farm were great, he also faced some difficult challenges.
Will, 24, said: “Mental health is a big issue.” Although it’s great, it has its pros and cons. It can be very isolating. Sometimes it’s really good for my mental health, but sometimes it’s not so good.

“My brother has just come home, but for the last eight years I have worked exclusively with my father, which can be a bit challenging at times.” I don’t experience the younger interaction that people would in a workplace.
Will admitted that many farmers in the industry struggle with their mental health due to the rigors of their work.
He added: “The only communication I have is with these animals or with my father, and I don’t always work with my father, so most of the time I could just work alone.” In the sense that you don’t have to work with them When you talk to people, it gets a bit difficult. It gets a little lonely.
“And then there’s this side: Because farming is a way of life, you’re not as free to do what you want because you obviously have work on the farm and you have to take care of things.” Animals, man must treat the animals. “The period of time in which you have time off, let’s say vacation, has to be planned very well.”
Speaking about how his girlfriend Jessie, 27, helped him through a difficult time on the farm, he said: “She really helped me.” When I came off the show it was the start of lambing season for me, which was a very is a mentally stressful and hard time.
“There were real ups and downs during that time, so it was just nice to have Jessie by my side and have someone to lean on.”
“So yeah, in general it was great to have someone. I wouldn’t necessarily say Jessie gets her hands dirty and helps with work, but she’s good. She’s definitely great company.’
“She really helped me out and helped out on the farm and everything, which is a farm boy’s dream, you know.” The ability to bring someone back to the farm and get them involved. I’m over the moon about it.’

Will went on to explain that one day he would like to run the farm and raise his children there.
He said: “It’s definitely in the family’s best interests for the farm to continue and be passed on to the next generation once my dad puts up his boots – which I don’t think he officially ever will.”
“But yeah, I would 100 percent love to take over the farm, and I would love for my kids to get involved on the farm.” I’ll probably take the same approach as my dad and not necessarily force them to farm , but I let them know it’s always an option.”
Will, from Buckinghamshire, was already TikTok’s most famous farmer when ITV approached him to appear on Love Island.
He said he jumped at the chance to be on the dating show as it was a great way to bring farming to a new platform.
Better known as Farmer Will, he has more than 1.9 million followers on the platform as well as 735,000 followers on Instagram.
The heartthrob was known to often appear naked to the waist as he worked in the fields and spoke of his passion for farming.
He rose to fame on social media during the lockdown when he started posting videos enthusiastically explaining each phase of sheep farming step by step.
He was often seen, accompanied by dancing, delivering lambs and shearing sheep while doing work that could require grueling 17-hour days at peak times.
He’s part of a growing social media phenomenon called “FarmTok” that exploded during the pandemic.

And now Will is preparing to release a book about his work, which he dubbed the “Pinch Me Moment.”
On why he loves farming, Will said: “In farming there’s the family side, the intergenerational side, and for me it’s just a way of life.”
“It’s completely different than what everyone else is doing, in the sense that you’re outside all the time, having fresh air, interacting with these animals and building relationships with them.”
“I want to bring as much positivity into farming as possible.” I want to encourage as many people as possible to take the time to visit a farm and that is something I would like to do.
“I want to open part of the farm to the public to see the animals and have almost a day in the life. “We could potentially get glamping cabins so people can come and stay on the farm.”
