During a panel discussion about menopause with doctors Suzanne Fenske and Somi Javaid, Naomi said: “We heard tonight that there are complications that keep sex alive and libido alive and so on, but sometimes people have the complete opposite effect .”

“In fact, I think there was a time, generations ago, when people talked about what menopause actually was… it was hysteria and some women were nymphomaniacs.” “Like we were just crazy old crows who wanted sex too badly” , she added with a laugh.

“Personally, I think sex becomes more enjoyable when you let go of the fear of having babies…when you know it’s not the right time…what’s that called…’Closed for business, open for pleasure!’

“It feels more like, ‘I’m going to do this for myself’…You’re more confident, you’re more experienced, you’re smarter, you’re not going to be all, ‘Oh, I want to turn off the lights.’

Referring to her recent wedding, which took place in Manhattan, Naomi continued: “I’m a newlywed and I think I’m in the honeymoon phase. That might sound simple to me, but I think communication is the most important key here.”

“Whatever you’re going through, if you can talk to your partner, if you can be honest and have a really authentic conversation and remove the awkwardness, and most of the time if they’re good people, they will.” Be You empathetic and that’s hot, that’s really hot when you can be honest and the conversation gets really good to the point where we’re like, “Yeah, we’re over the awkwardness and now let’s have some fun.”

Naomi has been in a relationship with Billy since 2017, when they met on the set of Netflix series Gypsy, but admitted she didn’t always feel as confident in the bedroom with her husband because she used estrogen patches when she was dating met for the first time.

“This is a bit personal, but at the start of my relationship I wore my patch and was nervous about my new lover seeing it,” Naomi explained.

Speaking about the residue the patch left on her skin, the mother of two recalled: “So I remember at the beginning the doctor said, ‘Go to the hardware store and get the oil you need.’ for your car to get it.’ “Off” because it’s very sticky and it lasts for days… like that glue it just sits there and it looks like a gunshot wound!’

Recalling a time when she and Billy were on the verge of becoming intimate in the early stages of their romance, she said: “So right before it started, I went into the bathroom and I was in there.” [pretends to scrub her body] And then I came out and my beautiful partner said, “Are you okay? Is everything ok?”

“And the moment I brought honesty into the room, he knew how to behave, he knew what cues to follow, even though it was awkward and difficult for me – I was so ashamed of it – , he was 100 percent sensitive.” and I can safely say that we had some really great sex that night.

“It gets tiring having all these rules and this ideology about how you have to look, so I just find myself in a situation where I just have to get what I want and say it boldly.”

“I think it requires experience and growing into yourself and getting to know what you love and like, and that’s not something you can learn or buy, that’s just the benefit of committing to this phase of life and that’s why you think I thought a lot about ‘women are horny at this age.’

When asked what her favorite sex position was, Naomi cheekily replied: “Up, down!” “I’m not picky at the moment,” before moving on to the importance of talking about menopause much more freely.

“Half the population will move there and then the rest of the population will be indirectly affected,” she said. “The thing about menopause is that there is no one size fits all, it affects us all so differently.”

“But it seems like the door has been broken down.” Everyone rushes out and is ready to scream and shout, it’s encouraging. I feel like we can be happy with the next generation, and actually it should start with sex education, which is the adult version of puberty. “The story starts here, at the beginning, and then there’s the middle and then this is the other side of it, but it’s not the end.”
