EXCLUSIVE: RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under star Rita Menu reveals big regrets about Snatch Game and viewers of the backstage drama didn’t see it

Rita Menu was sent home on Friday episode four of Season 3 of Rupaul’s Drag Race Down Under which is currently streaming on Stan.

Episode four featured the infamous Snatch Game, which pits the queens against each other in a game show, showcasing their best celebrity impressions along the way.

Rita, 24, initially settled on women’s suffrage activist Kate Sheppard, but in the walkthrough segment, Rupaul wasn’t convinced, so the Hamilton, New Zealand queen switched to rapper Cardi B.

However, her impersonation of the hip-hop star didn’t sit well with the judges, pushing her into the abyss before being defeated by Flor in lip-synching.

As she exited, Rita Menu spoke exclusively to the Chron Australia about what she would do differently if she had time back on the show.

“Probably take acting classes!” “That’s been the struggle for me for most episodes,” she said, referencing both her unconvincing “snatch game” and her performance in previous acting competitions.

“Snatch Game is something I’d love to do again, but right,” she continued.

Rita joked that if she had another chance, she’d happily pose as a competitor.

The latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is currently streaming on Stan.

“I’m doing a really good Hollywould impression,” she laughs, referring to her rival Hollywould Star, her fellow Sydney actress.

“I think I would have stuck to my word and stuck with what I had already planned, which is Kate Sheppard.”

Rita added: “I set out to do a lot for this. It definitely took a lot for me to transform into a character. I hadn’t planned anything at all.’

The fourth episode’s runway theme was “Night of a Thousand Kylies” and the Queens presented looks inspired by Kylie Minogue.

Rita and Ashley Madison presented looks inspired by Kylie’s In My Arms video.

“We had the same look, but in a way it was different.” “Hers was definitely very Kylie, like an exact replica, while I made it bigger with the plaids to accentuate my body even more and be more of.” my character and I think we both sold it differently on the runway.”

Meanwhile, Flor and Isis each performed an interpretation of Kylie’s absinthe-colored character ‘Green Fairy’ from Moulin Rouge, and Rita explained that there was some tension between the queens over this.

“Isis had the absinthe bottle and I don’t think Flor originally had it,” implying that Flor didn’t come up with that detail himself.

While she lost to Flor in a lip sync battle to Kylie Minogue’s classic single “Secrets,” Rita’s favorite Kylie song is a recent one.

“Supernova, hands down.” It’s a good dance and disco number. I pull out my tricks here and there and have a good time with it.”

In episode three, Rita sent home two queens in one day because her lip sync opponent Ivory Glaze fainted and the fight was postponed to the following episode. She also sent Ivanna Drink home in the same episode.

“It was crazy having to do two lip syncs in one day, but those were the two songs I wanted to do all season and luckily I got them.”

“I love lip syncing, I do it every day so I enjoyed every second of it.”

However, the Kiwi Queen regrets her time on the show that she wasn’t able to further showcase her dancing skills.

“Drag race was a huge learning curve for me,” said the Hamilton-based drag queen.

“I know what I’m good at because I’m from a small town.” I like to say I’m at my best in Hamilton. But entering the competition felt like a learning experience.”

The most important lesson she took from this experience was to have fun.

“Don’t be afraid to act like a fool.” Because when people vibrate, they enjoy every second of being as stupid as possible, and I learned that after Snatch Game.”

But will Rita Menu add Cardi B to the usual list of divas she impersonates at her shows?

‘No not at all. Maybe a few songs here and there, but definitely not the embodiment of her!’
