The new boyfriend who is helping Sally Phillips heal her broken heart after her husband ran away and dumped her over a yoga teacher is a former soldier with whom she did business, Web has revealed.
Comedian Sally Phillips has found love again with a former soldier – after her husband left her for a Russian yoga teacher.
The Miranda star gushed about her new husband – whom she only referred to as Ian – during an interview on stage at the Edinburgh Festival.
She said he was “a dream” and revealed they met in 2019 through a mutual friend.
Now Web can reveal that the man who healed Sally’s broken heart is 53-year-old former Army Captain Ian Pilcher.

After graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Ian served in the King’s Regiment for nine years.
He left the army in 1998 to work for private law enforcement and now runs his own performance management company.
The couple live together in west London and own a catering business called Secret Supper Club Ltd.
Ian can be seen gazing at her from across the dining table in a series of heartwarming images on Sally’s social media, while in another photo the love-struck couple are enjoying a champagne lunch in a park.
At the Edinburgh Festival, Sally spoke to How To Be 60 Live! about their new romance and said she feels “very lucky to have been given a second chance”.
She said, “My husband left me to become a member of the Russian Yoga Federation, although I’m no longer legally allowed to say so, but he doesn’t want to listen to it.”
“Luckily my boyfriend introduced me to Ian and I’ve been with Ian for four years now. And he is a dream.
“And honestly, it’s true when he kissed me, too. I’ll share too much because comedians do.’

“But when he kissed me, this phrase came to mind: ‘One often needs to be kissed by someone who knows how.’ ‘So I met someone who knows how to kiss.”
Sally, who has three sons with her ex-husband, met her new partner Ian two years after her marriage to Andrew ended in 2017.
She has previously spoken about how a rift opened up after the birth of her eldest son Olly, 17, who has Down syndrome. They also share sons Luke, 13, and Tom, 10.
Speaking on TBN’s Soul Tears talk show in 2018, Sally revealed that the pain of two miscarriages also strained her marriage to her now-ex-husband.
Sally said, “I ended up giving birth in a hospital toilet on one of these cardboard trays and what came out looked like a baby.” I helplessly handed the baby over to a nurse who said they would run tests.
“I said I wanted my baby back but they had burned it because they said it was out of the question as it’s just ‘conception products,’ which obviously isn’t what you think of it at all.’

Sally said the loss of her first child caused a rupture in her marriage to now ex-husband Andrew.
He didn’t take the miscarriage as badly as Sally did since she was only 14 weeks old.
She continued, “Once you’ve had a baby for the first six months, you have to figure out what the heck that means, and once you’ve had a baby, you bond very early on up, aren’t you?” It was grim and very difficult to deal with as a couple.
“After Olly, there was a split that was that my husband and I treated the diagnosis very differently, and then that split just kept growing around babies because he didn’t really realize I was pregnant.” Fourteen weeks isn’t that long, but in your body you feel the nausea, the excitement and all those things.”
