Robert O’Neill, exMarine, claims to have killed Bin Laden
Robert O’Neilla former Marine who claims to have killed Osama Bin Ladengot arrested US for assault and public intoxication. The case occurred on Wednesday the 23rd in the city of Frisco, Texas. Despite the detention, he was released after posting bail of US$3,500 (about R$17,000 at current exchange rates). According to the American newspaper “New Yo Postark”O’Neil is being prosecuted for causing physical harm to another person, who is not named. They also reported that the former soldier was arrested after recording a podcast at a cigar bar. O’Neill was among the group of American soldiers who located the terrorist during an operation in Pakistan in May 2011. Although the identity of the gunman who killed Bin Landen was never identified, years after the assassination, O’Neill’s name was mentioned on the SOFREP special operations website as the man formerly known as “The Gunman.” It’s not the first time O’Neill has gotten into trouble. In 2020, he was suspended from Delta Airlines for refusing to comply with Covid19 pandemic protocols, and in 2016 he was arrested for drunk driving in Montana. In both of those cases, however, the charges were dropped.
