GAZA, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) — At least 13 Palestinians were killed on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, Palestinian media reported.
The majority of those killed were women and children, and many more were injured in the bombing, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Local sources told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes also launched an attack on Deir el Balah, in the center of the besieged coastal enclave, early Saturday morning, killing or wounding several people.
Health authorities in Gaza announced on Friday that the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip since the current conflict between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) began last October has already risen to 22,600, in addition to the 57,910 injured 7.
And in the last 24 hours, they added, the Israeli army has carried out 15 attacks against Gaza, leaving 162 dead and 296 injured.
