Expelled from the CAQ group: Marie-Louise Tardif shuts the door on the Conservatives

CAQ MP Marie-Louise Tardif, who has been expelled from her party’s parliamentary group pending an investigation into an alleged threat, completely closed the door on Éric Duhaime’s Conservative Party.

“I have no decision to make about it. Me, I’m a caquist. I’m on Mr Legault’s team and will remain on the team with Mr Legault,” she said in an interview with TVA Nouvelles on Friday.

This exit comes after rumors of raids, with the Conservative leader even saying explicitly he may be tempted to approach Ms Tardif to recruit her once she has cleared her reputation.

This approach will probably never happen. “I have no temptation, not at all. I won’t meet him either,” exclaimed the MNA for Laviolette-Saint-Maurice, speaking of Eric Duhaime.

In the Conservative Party, we seemed surprised by the MP’s outing. It was out of the question to try anything until the matter was settled anyway.

Marie-Louise Tardif has voluntarily removed herself from the CAQ caucus while police investigate allegations by a former Shawinigan County Office attaché. The Honorary Member would have liked to speak to the investigators, but they made her understand that the procedure required her not to be heard at this stage.
