Rave attack survivor tells how he fled after being shot

In a special report for the Fantastic This Sunday (22), photographer and documentary filmmaker Gabriel Chaim showed the effects of terror in Israel.

On the outskirts of Tel Aviv, teams are working day and night to identify the remains of victims of the terrorist group Hamas. The military rabbi says he has been in the army for 30 years and has been involved in identifying soldiers’ bodies for 15 years. He says he has never seen such horror.

Moments later a siren warns: airstrike. A gas rocket fired by Hamas explodes in the air and is destroyed by the Iron Dome air defense system.

In Tel Aviv, Gabriel Chaim makes another successful interception. Chaim also documents the tensions in Jerusalem. Roads are blocked and there are clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli police.

The police run to a corner where an explosion occurs. Shots follow, and at this point they don’t know where they’re coming from. Protests erupted near an Israeli settlement and a military base in Ramallah on the West Bank on Friday. Gabriel Chaim traveled there with a group of international correspondents. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees says at least 82 people have been killed since the terrorist attacks in the West Bank.

A man says he has a 16yearold brother who was shot, his father was arrested and everyone in the West Bank is suffering from what he calls Israeli occupation. Demonstrators burned tires during the protest. They used slingshots to throw stones at Israeli troops. One resident says Gaza has two million inhabitants.

Training of the Israeli military army

Also this week, Gabriel Chaim recorded an Israeli military exercise. In one of the scenarios, soldiers advance with the aim of occupying a building. The lieutenant colonel says they train to cope with all kinds of situations. A journalist asks about the problem of the Gaza tunnels.

“That is of course one of our biggest challenges,” says the lieutenant.
