Montrealer Lance Stroll finished ninth in the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin on Sunday.
However, given the events leading up to the race, one might have assumed that Stroll would have another difficult day.

He was actually supposed to start from the pit lane, but the Aston Martin driver seemed to have completely forgotten. Stroll instead settled into the starting grid before being forced into the pits by his team. The latter was checked after the race, but he will not receive any further sanctions for this incident.

On the track, Stroll ultimately delivered a race that lived up to the name, moving up eleven places to finish in ninth place. He also scored his first points (2) since the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of last July, where he also finished ninth.
His teammate Fernando Alonso abandoned the race on the 51st lap.
The 24-year-old Canadian is in 11th place overall with 49 points.
As a reminder, it was the Dutchman Max Verstappen, already world champion, who was crowned winner. Lewis Hamilton (2nd) and Lando Norris (3rd) completed the podium.
