Fábio Porchat pinned digital influencer Gkay and broadcasters SBT and Record while honoring Jô Soares (19382022). The comedian spoke to Huck on Globo during Sunday’s Best of the Year awards, This Sunday (25), after sharing a video of all the famous people who died in 2022.
“I look at Jô and think: ‘What would he do with a gkay in front of him’?” asked Fábio Porchat during the speech. He asked this question to Tatá Werneck, who was watching the ceremony from the audience. “That’s why he decided to leave us sometimes, wasn’t it?” the comedian snapped, prompting laughter.
He then mentioned the time he worked at Record between 2016 and 2018, where he ran the Porchat program. “Sometimes I remember when I was doing a talk show on another channel that I didn’t say the name that didn’t belong put on… It was the first time that Paulo Vieira had contact with Jô and he cried a lot…”

Fábio Porchat took to the stage to pay tribute to him, having shown an excerpt from the defunct Programa do Jô 20 years ago, when the comedian made his TV debut on the veteran host’s show. “I am very happy to say that Jô was part of my life because he was part of all of our lives,” he concluded.
Later, Porchat also mocked SBT when the three nominees for Soap Opera of the Year were announced all from Globo. “I think it will be Poliana Moça,” the comedian joked. “I think it’s going to be Os Mutantes,” added Paulo Vieira. “Do you think Rebeldes doesn’t stand a chance?” concluded Luciano Huck.

That year, Porchat competed for the Paulo Gustavo Award for Best Comedian of the Year. The winner of the referendum was Tatá Werneck, who also supplanted Paulo Vieira. When he received the trophy from Déa Lúcia, the mother of the comedian who gave his name to the award, he decided to give her this recognition.
