Face-to-Face 2022: Legault “has given up”, notes Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois

Solidarity spokesman Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, who closes any rapprochement with the Parti Québécois, believes that François Legault missed his target last night in the first major debate on TVA.

Last night, Quebecers were confronted in front of their TVs with “a prime minister who lowered his arms, took his hands out of his pockets and then said to himself, ‘Well, we have nothing more to do in Quebec to fight climate change’ What a lack of leadership, what a lack of ambition for Quebec,” analyzed Mr. Nadeau-Dubois during a press crowd the day after Face-a-Face TVA.

“Rather than presenting his social project to Quebecers, François Legault preferred to play with the truth to distract Québec solidaire proposals,” regrets Mr. Nadeau-Dubois.

“I think Mr. Legault missed an opportunity yesterday to inspire Quebecers,” the Solidarity leader continued. He missed an opportunity to tell them about the future. He preferred to attack Québec solidaire. Attacking Québec’s Solidaire plan means not having a plan for the environment.”

Apparently, Québec solidaire is trying harder than ever to portray François Legault as its main opponent, which, by the way, the supreme caquiste is also trying to do.

For the former Red Square, two visions faced each other on Thursday evening: that of a Quebec that could become the “greenest country in the world” with Quebec Solidaire, and a “1990s vision turned to the past” with the CAQ, said he explains.

Furthermore, despite the close ties to Québec solidaire that Paul St-Pierre Plamondon acknowledged during the Québec solidaire debate, whether in terms of the environment or independence, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois rules out any possible rapprochement with the Parti Quebecois.

“There will be no discussions,” ruled Mr. Nadeau-Dubois, confirming that the door is closed to talks about a possible alliance with the Parti Québécois.

The Quebec solidaire co-speaker agrees with François Legault on at least one point: the Quebec Liberal Party is overwhelmed.

“Yesterday, on several occasions, Ms Anglade spoke like some of her predecessors: Mr Charest, Mr Couillard … In short, the renewal promised to the Quebec Liberal Party does not appear to be happening. (…) I see, like everyone else, that the Liberal Party is looking for itself. I think there is more of a consensus on that,” said Mr Nadeau-Dubois.
