Both the United States and China have officially confirmed the crash of a fragment of the Chinese Long March 5B missile on Malaysia in an area near the coastal city of Bintulu.

The US Space Force confirmed that the impact took place at 6:51 p.m. Italian time. China says the impact took place at sea.
Designated CZ-5B-Y3, the space debris is a fragment of the rocket that launched the second module of the Chinese space station on July 24.
